Loveland police terminated for striking a woman

Loveland Police Department officer has been terminated after allegedly striking
a woman in the face during a hospital evaluation. In his first year of service,
the officer responded to a report of a woman wandering around traffic and
speaking incoherently. They found the woman and placed her in protective
custody. The woman became verbally uncooperative with healthcare workers and
spat at a nurse and an officer. The officer responded with an inappropriate use
of force, causing minor injuries to her face. The officer's partner intervened
and removed him from the room before radioing a supervisor to come to the
scene. The woman was medically cleared and brought to Larimer County Jail for
